In January, Snelling Business Systems once again joined representatives from Panasonic at the University of East Anglia, to present the 'Panasonic Scholarship'.
The scholarship this year was awarded to mathematics undergraduate, Sarah Morris who received the coveted grant due to her academic ability, focused approach to study and commitment to her course.
Sarah Morris, Student, said :-
"I was delighted to receive the Panasonic Scholarship. The Award will significantly contribute to the successful completion of my Math degree. I am currently researching different career paths from the many that will be open to me in four years and I am enjoying every minute of the course that will take me there. I wish to thank Karl Tamegger from Panasonic and Toby Wise from Snelling Business Systems for this wonderful opportunity".
The scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate student within the Faculty of Science who is considered eligible under the award's selection criteria. With the cost of higher education soaring, the scholarship is increasingly necessary as it offers the student the sum of £1,000 per annum for a three year term subject to satisfactory progression to the next stage of their course.
In return for their sponsorship, Snelling Business Systems receives an annual report submitted by the recipient student, detailing their academic progress, and the company also receives a formal statement covering the student's academic achievement. The award is adjudicated by the Faculty Associate Dean for Admissions (Science) on the advice of the Dean of the Faculty of Science.
The first Panasonic Scholarship at the University of East Anglia was awarded in academic year 2007/2008 to Leejiah Dorwood, who was a student in the School of Environmental Sciences. Sarah is the second in what both Snelling Business Systems and Panasonic are confident will be a growing number of scholarship graduates who have been assisted by this very special collaboration between the two companies.
