Following the successful 'Highly Commended' prize at the National AV Awards, the flagship Forum building has now been praised by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) for its state of the art digital facilities following a major revamp to boost community facilities.
From a record number of entries, the Forum has won the Community Benefit Award in the 2010 RICS East of England Awards.
Judges were wowed by a redevelopment two years ago of the buildings south win which saw the creation of Fusion (Europe's largest digital media gallery), a BBC Open Studio, Norwich's first full-HD theatre, and a new Tourist Information Centre in 2009.
Lead judge for the East of England, Edward Coe, said: "The Fusion digital gallery, BBC Voices and Open Studio project at the Forum in Norwich showed a very strong benefit to the community it serves, demonstrating that 21st century technology can be made accessible to ordinary communities."
Robin Hall, chief executive of The Forum Trust, said: "The Forum is now nine years old and we were delighted to win the awards including RICS Awards for the original project. It's really special to win further RICS Awards for the work we've undertaken in the last two years which has created a state of the art facility for the benefit of the community."
