Snelling Business Systems is delighted to announce that it has once again been shortlisted for a prestigious AV Award.
This is the third consecutive year that the national audio visual specialists have been selected for the finals of the awards, which are now in their 12th year and widely recognized to be the most prestigious and wide-ranging awards in the UK for this industry.
Hosted by AV Interactive Magazine, the AV awards recognize excellence in a number of areas including resilience in the face of a challenging global economy, remarkable innovation, new technology or new uses of existing technology. Manufacturers from all over the world can enter and the awards are independently judged.
With a growing reputation for excellence within the field of education, particularly following their appointment as Top Ranked Supplier within the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium in September 2010, Snelling Business Systems is delighted to have been shortlisted for the Education Project Of The Year Over £50,000 - the same award for which they reached the finals in 2010.
This year, the project put forward for this category is the Ruskin Digital Gallery. Commissioned by Anglia Ruskin University, Snelling Business Systems were appointed to design, supply, install and maintain the AV facilities for a pioneering digital art gallery in the heart of the University's Cambridge campus.
The vision was to create a groundbreaking gallery offering flexible space, which displays art in digital format, on high definition screens, as well as allowing for traditional hanging and all AV equipment was required to blend seamlessly with the period character of the building.
In order to deliver the brief, it was necessary for Snelling Business Systems to exploit advances in technology and draw on the industry's latest innovations, including the world's largest 103" 3D full high definition plasma screen, which was the first of its kind to be installed globally. In addition, Snelling Business Systems recommended the use of Dataton software, which is more usually seen in state-of-the-art venues such as the Hollywood Bowl Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Space Centre. Created by Dataton, who are the worldwide leaders in sound, visual and multimedia control delivery, the software delivers a multi-display system, with a wide diversity of uses, including visitor-activated displays.
