BACKGROUND
The Curve is Norwich's first purpose-built auditorium and is a stunning addition to conference facilities at The Forum building in the heart of Norwich.
Purpose-built, with tiered seating for 120 people, the auditorium has been designed to host a diverse range of events from sophisticated multi-media presentations to simple debates and even small performances.
With air conditioning, multiple lighting options and cushioned seats, The Curve also boasts state-of-the-art, full high definition (FHD) technology with broadcast quality microphones, video conferencing, live TV and web streaming capabilities, enabling flexible presentation, debate, performance and screening applications.
AIMS OF THE PROJECT
The audio visual requirements of The Curve necessitated a system that delivered the multi-media requirements of the auditorium, that was operationally straightforward to use.
In 2008, Snelling Business Systems were successful in their tender bid and were delighted to be awarded the contract to design, supply, install and maintain the audio visual facilities for The Curve.
TECHNICAL SOLUTION
Snelling Business Systems designed and commissioned FHD screen projection providing 144 inches of the best image quality available on today's market, complemented by a high quality sound system with broadcast quality microphones.
The audio visual installation also incorporated full video and teleconferencing facilities, with live internet streaming capability.
In addition, the latest advancement in overhead projection, a desktop visualiser, was integrated and the auditorium was fitted with adaptable lighting and ambience, featuring state-of-the-art light emitting diode (LED) technology.
The presentation lectern features FHD presentation, with PC and Blu-Ray DVD playback and confidence monitors placed in front of presenters allow them to view what's on the main projection screen without facing away from the audience.
All design work, engineering, planning, installation and programming was conducted in house by Snelling Business Systems and the project was delivered within budget and on time.
